Then We sent Our messengers, following their footsteps, and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. *Mark 1:1*, *Mark 1:14*, *Matthew 4:23*, *Matthew 9:35*, *Luke 4:18*, *Luke 20:1* And We placed compassion and mercy and monasticism in the hearts of those who followed him, which they innovated; We did not write it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of God. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
